BSL 260521 Spaces for People project updates in BSL Large 540p

Lesley Crerar explains provides an update on the Spaces for people project in Aberdeen.
British Sign Language Aberdeen City Council’s public spaces were temporarily changed last summer because of the COVID pandemic to make more space for people to physically distance while they are out and about on the city centre streets. These temporary changes are still in place so if you are driving into the city centre or taking the bus, your trip might be different from other times you have been into Aberdeen city centre.Bus stops are more spaced out along Union Street to spread out the number of people waiting and there are no bus stops in the middle section of Union Street between Bridge St and Market St which is currently pedestrianised. Buses will stop away from – the permanent road kerb and temporary platforms are there to help people to reach the pavement and there is extra space to let people queue safely. Some bus stops have moved to Market Street, Guild Street or Bridge Street and the signs at each bus stop tell you what buses will stop there. Maps are available on our website.
