KS2 students Christmas artwork celebrates 100 Years of the Royal British Legion

A Primary School student from Hemel Hempstead has won this year’s Hertfordshire Heroes Christmas Art competition after her artwork, which features an emotive depiction of the moment World War One opposition forces laid down their arms and held a Christmas Day truce, was selected by a panel of by military personnel at Northwood HQ, Hertfordshire. Organised by Hertfordshire County Council, the competition saw submissions from over 900 children across 23 schools in the county, who were asked to design a poster celebrating the Royal British Legion’s centenary to send Christmas messages to those in the armed forces serving away from home over the holiday period.
