Q&A session with Steve Maddern

COVID-19 cases in Swindon and across England are increasing rapidly and a third wave is underway.

The GWH has seen a rise in COVID-19 patients in recent days.

The ongoing vaccination rollout is bringing forward second doses for under 40s to eight weeks – meaning the entire population will benefit from maximum protection more quickly.

But COVID-19 cases will continue to rise as restrictions are eased. Hospitalisations, serious illness and deaths will also continue, albeit thankfully at a much lower level than before the vaccination programme

Although many of the legal restrictions that the Government has imposed through the pandemic will be lifted at Step 4 on 19 July, important guidance is in place that we each need to follow to protect ourselves and others.
